He had decided to have his older brother help him move in today, because quite frankly, moving in with your mother helping you was not the greatest first impression. He did not want his new roommate to think of him as a mama's boy, which was highly untrue. He was anything but, and usually strayed away from her, hanging around on his own, or with Jack. But Jack was always at his side, no matter what time it was or what day it was. Jack was his companion, his guide, and his only real friend at the moment, as sad as it sounded. He shook his head slightly as he leaned his elbow on the window opening, letting the breeze ripple through his short hair. He wore sunglasses today, and they covered the misted blue of his eyes. He actually looked quite normal, and he would be able to navigate the steps without Jack's help, so maybe people would think of him as a normal dog. And today was his day off really, since Zander was here. Jack was in his leather collar and a regular harness instead of his guide one. He was sitting in the backseat with his whole head and neck hanging out the window, his tongue rolling out and lapping at the wind that blew at him. His tail was wagging madly back and forth and the puppy within him was showing immediately. He was only three, but he acted so much older for Jackson. It was just how he was trained. Zander looked into his rearview mirror and smiled, alughing slightly at the dog's antics. Jackson looked questioningly in his direction.
"Jack's being an idiot for once." He said playfully, and Jackson nodded understandingly. Everyone that had seen Jack hanging out of windows had explained to the blind boy what his dog was doing. Right to the t. And that was fine with him, for he enjoyed imagining his dog having fun, and it was even better when he actually was enjoying himself. Sighing slightly, he shook his head and reached around, running his fingers through Jackson's short haired coat. It was sleek and shiney, and well kept. Jack was a healthy dog, and he was spolied, but treated like he should be. And Jackson loved him with all of his heart. Finally Jackson felt the SUV sliding to a halt, and he looked out the window as if he could actually see. A smile lit his handsome face in case there were people out there watching, and he got out of the passenger side, earning a be careful from Zander. He rolled his eyes and scowled slightly, but then got out more carefully, going to the side door and opening it for Jack. "Come on boy. Time to explore." He said and Jack jumped out with a woof, his leash in his mouth after he had barked. He placed it gingerly in Jackson's outstretched hand and they both helped Zander move some of the boxes. They had moved the furniture in there already, for they had needed Jackson's furniture from home...the one with the markings on it for the colors of the shirts and everything. It was simple enough.
The three of them moved to the stairs, and Jackson started up them carefully, with Zander explaining how tall and far about the steps were. Jackson went up them easily, and Zander breathed a sigh of relief as they reached the top. He hated watching his brother going up new stairs or going to new anything. He was surprised his mother had said yes because of how she was with Jackson. So overprotective. But the doctor had said it would be alright, and it might even be better for Jackson to get him out of the house and out of familiar territory. Zander helped put all of the clothes away and everything like that, and he set up his brother's side of the form with things that would normally be found in dorms. Even pictures so his roommate wouldn't suspect as of yet. Jackson knew which picture was in each frame anyway, for they had been explained to him. In a way, he was glad he had been able to see before and was blinded after seeing everything. He knew what their faces looked like, and he could imagine them in his mind. If it had been from birth, he wouldn't miss anything, but he wouldn't know anything. How do you describe the color blue to a blind person? Shaking his head, he hugged his older brother goodbye and then let Jack up onto the bed, sitting beside him. His sunglasses had made their way to his bedside table, and his glasses now perched upon his nose. Now to meet his roommate. Wherever he was.

The voices were echoing through the halls, and everyone was jumping around, parties being thrown, parents crying and saying goodbye to they’re kids, and there stood Alexander Grey, the boy who’s family was all messed up, the family who no longer cared about him. Standing there in the hallway, after already having his things set up in the room, he took in a breath as he read the name of his room mate on a piece of paper. Jackson, that was pretty cool name. Taking in a deep breath, he turned himself, walking down the halls, a black camera hanging around his neck. Though the camera hung down to about, mid chest, he licked the piercing on his bottom lip, before continuing down the halls.
This was going to be different, he’s never shared a room with anyone before, and what with his nightmares, and the way his insomnia was, he probably wouldn’t be a good room mate. His iPod headphones placed delicately within his ears, playing Fall Out Boy, the youth danced his way through the halls, smiling at the other boys and girls who were passing him, he didn’t really care if he was making a full out of himself. Though as soon as he came up to his room, Alexander pressed stop on his iPod and pulled the headphone from his ears.
Slowly, Alex pushed open the door and stepped inside, looking over at the new guy “Hey.. You must be Jackson.” He stated softly before setting his iPod and camera onto his bed. Seeing the dog, Alex gasped “Oh my god, your dog is beautiful.” Alexander spoke with a smile. His voice was soft and very boyish for a kid who was turning twenty next month. Slowly, Alexander moved over to the dog, holding his hand out “Can I pet him?” He asked softly before shaking his head “Sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. I’m Alexander Grey.” He smiled and held out his hand.
Waiting for the other to take his hand, Alexander nearly wanted to ask why he was wearing sunglasses, but thought against it. He didn’t want to get on the bad side of this guy on the first day. Licking his lower lip once more, he tilted his head a bit to the side, curious as to why the other hadn’t taken his hand just yet.

Jackson was aware of all the sounds and the chaos outside the rather peaceful dorm room. His brother had explained the lay out to him, and he had taken Jackson around the room, showing him where everything was. He now imagined it in his mind, trying to memorize the room so he didn't look like an idiot trying to get around. His bed was right under a window, and he was sure his roommate's was as well, since there were two. His roomie's name was Alexander, and he thought that name was quite interesting. His family was full of odd name's, so he wasn't too pleased with his, but he supposed it wasn't that bad. It could be worse. Shaking his head slightly, he felt Jack nudge his hand and he looked over at him, his hand stroking the shepherd's head. He removed his sunglasses and put his glasses on. Hopefully they would still divert the attention from his eyes. Maybe they would just think he had really light eyes and wouldn't look long enough to see the filmy cover. That was what he was hoping anyway. Taking a deep breath, he exhaled softly and then jumped as he heard a crash next door. He wasn't so sure about this floor. It seemed wild and crazy, and a lot to take in when you couldn't see. He could only guess at what had made that sound. But Jack was calm, and that was important. When Jack was calm, that meant nothing was wrong usually. The male dog had his head resting upon his paws, until the figure entered the room.
Jackson heard the footsteps enter, and he looked up to make it seem as if he was watching him. Jack whined in greeting, wagging his tail happily. But he wouldn't move from his place beside his owner. He was Jackson's guide dog, not anyone else's. That was the lesson that had been drilled into him when he was training. Jackson let him go and do what he wished most of the time when they weren't going out into public or anything, but Jack still chose to remain by his side. He wasn't going to leave him. The canine sighed softly and looked up as the new male seemed to take notice of him and compliment him. Jackson looked over to Alexander as well and he offered the young man a smile. Again, he tried envisioning what he looked like, but it wasn't happening. He hated being blind. Forgetting about it for a moment, he heard Alex's request. He nodded his head absentmindedly. "Yeah sure. He's friendly. His name's Jack. I didn't name him." He said as a means of explanation to the similiarity between Jackson and Jack. "And thanks. But it might go to his head." He joked softly, trying to be friendly here. Alexander seemed nice enough, and friendly, so he was trying to be the same way. There was no reason to be ornery or offstandish.
He had no idea that a hand was being offered to him, but he heard ALexander's introduction. He offered him a small smile in greeting and wondered why it seemed awkward for a moment. Was he missing something? Most likely. "It's nice to meet you Alexander. Obviously...you know already..I'm Jackson Daniels." He added sheepishly, wanting to keep up his end of the conversation. He shifted slightly on te bed, and he suddenly felt Jack's teeth gripping the sleeve of his arm. It was usually to show him where something was, so he wondered what he had dropped. Furrowing his brow, he suddenly felt his hand brush against someone else's, and realized it was Alex's. His eyes widened slightly and he fumbled for a moment before finally clasping the boy's hand. "Sorry about that. I...well..I couldn't see it..." He said, reddening immediately. He pulled his hand away after a while, and Jack whined slightly. Jackson felt as if he owed his new dorm mate an explanation, but he wouldn't until he was questioned. He shifted uncomfortably and then waited for Alex's words.

Hearing the other’s voice, Alexander smiled softly and nodded once or twice, before his hand was finally taken by the others. With a slight pout, Alexander moved slightly crouch down in front of Jackson. “Oh, your blind…” He blinked twice. “That came out wrong. I’m sorry.. God..” He shook his head, before looking up at the dog again, before he smiled. “Well, there is nothing wrong with not being able to see. Hell I wish I was blind sometimes.” He shrugged some, looking up into those ice blue eyes in which were blinded, and yet beautiful. Taking in a breath, Alexander only smiled again.
His mind was getting the best of him, which was a bad thing at times. And right now, what with Alexander being bi-sexual, the only thing he could think about was how cute Jackson was, and how he’d be able to check him out without getting caught. Before moving some, he shifted to stand, moving to sit on his own bed, before he laughed faintly “So tell me about yourself Jackson.” He nodded slightly before moving to place his hands into his lap as he sat Indian style. Tilting his head a bit to the side.
The shoulder length tresses of his dark colored hair shifted against his shoulders, wearing only a black tank top and a pair of blue jeans with his converse. Bouncing himself a little on a bed that made no noise at all, he continued to smile, watching Jackson contently with his deep blue eyes. His teeth soon gripped onto one of his lip rings before he chewed on it silently, waiting for Jackson’s voice to leave his throat again. Alexander was weird when it came to voices. He always thought they made the person.
A man with a boyish voice, much like his own, could have been proven that he was rather childish, and very hyper. Which was true in Alexander’s case, and a deep voice, showed a serious side of a man, but voices always made Alex shiver. Weather it was male or female voices, they could always sent him into a rather odd trance, or fantasy… Yes, Alexander Grey was an odd one.

He felt Alex's hand tighten around him in the friendly grasp, and soon his own hand was resting back on his leg. He sat with his feet on the floor, and he himself was hunched forward slightly. He was nervous, he wasn't going to deny it. He didn't want his roommate to think badly about him because he couldn't see, and he didn't want him to think him any different. His one worry was what was going to happen at night. He didn't usually sleep, he hadn't been able to sleep peacefully since the accident. The sounds of horns blaring and tires screeching, as well as the yells from his parents always shot him awake, and he didn't want to disturb Alexander. But he wasn't going to say anything it now, for he didn't want to make himself seem anymore odd than he already did. Sighing softly, he shook his head slightly and then felt Jack nudge his hand encouragingly. He stroked his dog's head lovingly and then looked up as he heard the voice coming his way once more. He reddened slightly and nodded his head. He didn't mind Alex speaking about it like that, for it was the simple truth. But it still embarrassed him every single time someone else realized thhe truth about him. He couldn't really hide it though. Taking a deep breath, he exhaled softly and then heard more words being tossed at him. Listening came easyily enough, and he found he was much better at letting other people speak to him while he remained silent. It was just better for him for some reason.
He registered Alex's words and then shook his head as the young man apologized. "It's alright. Don't worry about it.." He said, offering him a small smile that didn't reach his blank eyes. None of his smiles reached his eyes. The only thing he liked about them was thef act that no one could see the emotion within them. He could hide his pain and sadness a lot more skillfully then the next person. But they could hide their feelings from him just as easily because he couldn't see their eyes. Sighing slightly, he looked to Alex as he spoke once more. Jackson disagreed with the young man's words because it was him that couldn't see, and he knew everyday he wished he could again. Just see the green of the grass, the blue of the sky, the freedom that was around him. With this he was trapped in a neverending darkness. He couldn't open his eyes in the morning and look tiredly at his alarm clock and groan at the low numbers registered upon it. He had to feel around for the snooze button, and he had to get up immediately because he didn't know how long it took him to do everything exactly. But that was just the downsides, the negatives. There had to be good in this somewhere. He just couldn't find it yet. He shook his head once more and then looked to Alex. "I'm not so sure that you would enjoy it." He said with a small smile, showing he was being good natured about this whole subject.
Jackson's voice was calm and easy, never rising in pitch if he got upset, and never showing too much emotion. But it wasn't boring. There was life buried deep within the vocals, and he let it come out every so often. His tones were deep and rich, although there was a light quality about them as well. He had a bit of an accent, but he couldn't really place exactly what it was. His mother had an english accent, so that was laced within them, but his father had been Irish. He couldn't really figure out which one he strayed closer to. He looked up as Alex spoke to him once more, but was a bit confused as it was beside him now instead of in front of him. He must of just moved to his bed. Turning slightly, he thought about what he could him that didn't give too much away. "Well..I'm a junior...just moved here from Kentucky. I have an older brother who's nineteen and extremely supportive, and we lived with our mother until I moved here and he moved to his college dorm. I've had Jack for two years, because I've only been blind for two. I used to play sports and was interested in starting photography, but as you can see, that's most likely not going to happen...and..I play the guitar and sing a little bit. But I prefer not to draw too much attention to myself, so I haven't played in a while." He said with a shrug, giving him a slight overview as not to bore him to death. Feeling Jack shift beside him, he knew that the dog wanted to go and socialize with the young man, and he nodded his head encouragingly. Jack wagged his tail and licked at Jackson's hand in thanks, and then hopped down from the bed. He went over to Aelx, nosing his nose into the boy's hands and jumping up, putting his front paws in the boy's lap, his back legs still firmly ground. Jackson had a feeling his dog might be being a pain. "If you want him down...just tell him off." He said and then thought it polite to ask Alex about himself. "What about you?" He questioned and then waited patiently for any response.
