Kian walked into the door of the coffee shop and unzipped his coat. Why did it have to be so cold here in winter?. It was cold in Ireland too but not this kind of cold and it was practically a miracle if it snowed there. He walked over to the counter and ordered a coffee, after waiting a second he grabbed his drink and sat down. Finally it was Saturday and he wouldn’t have to rush to get to school. He sipped at the coffee and burnt his tung “Ouch...” he mumbled to himself. He pulled a sketch book out of his bag and started drawing, it was hard to play sports in the snow so in the winter he spent most of his time drawing. He turned to a page where he had already started a drawing of his dog. It was turning out just how he wanted it to, it surprised him. Usually he couldn’t draw first thing in the morning, usually he couldn’t do anything first thing in the morning but then again he’d already had two coffees before he left the house. Starbucks was way better than the coffee at home though so he had come for his third coffee of the day. He looked around the coffee shop, it was really busy this morning.

Donella walked into the coffee shop on her phone. Around her neck, a black and silver scarf hung and she wore a white v-neck quarter length sleeved top, a pair of black jeans, and Prada black boots. She also had her long wool coat on though she had unbuttoned it when she walked thorugh the door.
"Yes, Marciella. I....I know. God calm down I know that," she said into the phone trying to get an word in edge wise with her mother which was nearly impossible.
She walked up to the counter and ordered her French Vanilla Latte before handing over her credit card. the woman behin the counter gave it back to her and went to get her drink. While she waited Donella pulled the phone away from her ear. After a few seconds she replaced it backto its position.
"Well unfortunately Marciella that is not my problem." Wit hthat she hung up her phone and grabbed the latte from the woman behind the counter. She looked aorund trying to decide where to sit.

Kian noticed a girl looking for a seat in the over crowded coffee shop. There was a seat left at his table, it looked like the only one in the place. He waved to her, hoping he would get her attention. When she didn’t notice him right away he called over to her “Hey, cell phone girl!” he grinned.
He was pretty sure she saw him now so he pointed to the empty seat. He knew it was hard finding a seat in the place some mornings. More than once he had ended up sitting on the sidewalk outside but it was way to cold for that.
He moved his stuff over so there would be room at the table, he closed his sketchbook. He was never sure why but it always embarrassed him to have people looking at his drawings, it was about the only time he felt self conscious. He tossed the pencil to the side as well.

As she looked aorund she saw a boy waving her over to what appeared to be the only available seat left. When he yelled out to her she was sure he was talking to her so she walked over and sat in the empty seat.
"Thanks," she said taking her coat of so she could warm up from the heat and the latte. Speaking of which, she took a sip, Savoring the warmth of it on her tounge. It seemed like the warmth spread through her entire body which made her feel a lot better. Once she'd taken a few sips of the latte she looked at the boy and said,"Thanks, this place is so overly crowded lately."

Kian nodded “Yeah I know. Its getting to be really annoying, Id quit coming if I wasn’t so hooked on the coffee” he said as he took yet another drink. He looked around again, there seemed to be people allover the place. “It really makes you miss summer” he shook his head.
He was about to take another sip when he realised he had been talking away and never bothered to introduce himself (Probably because he’d had so much cafine). “Sorry” he extended a hand and gave one of his usual charming smiles. “Im Kian Reece” he said, still feeling slightly stupid.

"Donella, Donella McArthur." She took another sip of her latte and said,"You're right it does make you miss summer." It was way to col ouside and way too crowded inside. You didn't really win either way.
She looked at him and said,"Okay so I'm going to assume that you go to MHHBS." She thought she might have seen her in a few of her classes and around campus so she basically believed that her assumption was righ. Now she just had to wait for him to confirm it.

He smiled “Nice to meet you Donella” he said. He had some more of his coffee then nodded. “Yeah I do” he confirmed. He looked at her for a second “Iv seen you around I think we’ve had classes together before” he nodded. He never payed much attention in class so it was hard for him to say. Other than gym and art class he hated school all together. If it wasn’t for the fact that he loved playing sports he would have quit a long time ago.

"Like wise," Donella said smiling. This boy was cute, among other things. "Yeah, I've seen you too. I think you're in my English and Social science class actually. I sit all the way in the back so I see everyone that comes in." She took another sip of her latte as her cell phone rang. she looked at the caller ID and immediately sent the call straight to voicemail. She didn't hvae the patience to deal with Marciella at the moment.

Kian nodded “Yeah, thats right. I remember now. I hate that class, its so boring” he laughed. He usually spent the class talking to whoever sat near him, and didn’t pay a lot of attention to the teacher. As a result he was now forced to sit at the front of the class, not that he had been paying any more attention due to his new seat.
He looked over when he heard her cell ring. She didn’t answer “Sibling or a Parent im guessing” he said with a smile then polished off the rest of his coffee.

Donella nodded. "Yeah I know. Social Science is the most boring class in the world. English isn't much better, but whatever. Its a class we have to take right?" She took a sip of her latte feeling way better than she had when she walked in. She was still a little annoyed but it seemed the warmer she got the better she felt all around.
"Well you guessed right. It is a parent," she said when he commented her on ignoring the phone call. "Marciella, my mother, to be exact. That's who I was on the phone with when I walked in pissed off and yelling slightly. Marciella will definitely do that to you."

Kian nodded “Yep, the sooner its over the better. Im so glad it’s the weekend” he laughed. He took out his book and started drawing again now that he was finished with his coffee. He nodded when she answered that it was her mother, he didn’t have a mom but he had a sister who thought she was his mom. He was glad she had moved out, as mush as he cared about her they got on each other’s nerves a lot of the time. Things were a lot quieter around the house now that it was just the boys and the dog. “Yeah, at least she’s actually your mom. Mine passed away now my sister thinks she’s mom. My mom was never as annoying as she is so I don’t know where she gets it” he laughed.

"I know. The weekend is my safety." She watched as he continued to draw and then as he talked about not having a mother but having a sister who took care of him. "Please, we can switch anytime you like. Marciella is not a mother. Giving birth does not make someone a mother. any bitch can give birth to puppies, that doesn't make them a mother." she rolled her eyes at the thought of Marciella trying to be an actual mother. It wasn't even fathomable. "I was raised by nannies and myself. Once I got to old for nannies I raised myself. My parents were never home and when they weren't working or doing some charity event, my dad was screwing his assistant and my mom was screwing the pool boy." She gave a laugh. "My brother is cool though. He's disowned by my parents but I still talk to him."

Kian nodded “ Yeah, It takes more than blood to be a parent that’s for sure” he said with a hint of anger in his voice. He had loved his mom but his father on the other hand was his worst enemy. He almost never talked about him to anyone, it just made him mad. “My dad is in Ireland right now. Sitting in a bar, no doubt. He didn’t even call my sister on her wedding day” he stated in an annoyed tone. That was about the only information he ever gave out about his dad, he never told the rest of the story. His best friends didn’t even know the rest and it would be a cold day in hell when he told them.
