Kian stepped through the freshly fallen snow, it was early morning in the park. He stopped by a tree and looked around, all was quiet for about half a second and then a black and white blur came from what seemed like nowhere. The dog jumped in the air and knocked the soccer ball out of Kian’s gloved hands. He grinned and chased after her, watching as she pushed the ball through the fresh snow. He took off after her, he caught up and kicked the ball in another direction “Go get it Abby!”.
The dog barked and raced after the ball again, this time she used her nose to push it back over to him so that he could give it another good kick and send her running once more. This was their morning routine, Kian got in some soccer practice and Abby got a chance to burn off some of that never ending border collie energy. They did this every day wether it was winter or summer, it didn’t matter it was fun. Abby returned with the ball once more and this time jumped up and knocked Kian off his feet. He laughed and grabbed his dog in his arms and tossed her to the side gently, only to have her race over and snatch his hat off his head. The dog gave her owner a mischievous look before taking off across the park on a dead run. She stoped for a moment so that he almost thought he would catch up before she took off again. He groaned “No Abby! Sit! Get your but back here!” he couldn’t help but laugh, he should have seen this coming a mile away.

Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow. Rachel walked slowly through the park's snowy path, Rachel loved the snow, Autumn was her favorite season, the fallen leafs, the cool weather, it seemed as the world was turning a page of it's book with every season, nothing remained like it was, each season there's a different life hiding behind it. In Autumn Rachel felt like a falling leaf, falling slowly from the top of the tree, wind playing with it and taking it places until the leaf's journey is over and she falls on the cold ground. Taking a deep breath of the fresh air. The sky above the treetops was painted gorgeous hues of blues, gold's, and pinks. The girl's emerald eyes took in the cloud formations and colors and soon fell back to the snowy path she was walking in. Rachel saw Kian playing with his dog, Rachel didn't know Kian that much as she was new here, she knew few people from her previous visits to Salem and actually had some friends, but now since she's staying with her grandparents and starting in a new school then she thought that she should meet new people and form new friendships, Rachel loves to be surrounded by people, she didn't like to stay alone unless she wanted to relax or sometime to think; however Rachel wasn't in the mood for thinking and she wanted the company. Rachel walked to where Kian was playing with Abby, "Hello stranger...how are you?" Rachel said as she smiled at the sight of him and his dog...

Kian turned and smiled at Rachel "Hey!" he said. He looked at Abby again and shook his head, she still had his hat in her mouth and was standing a few feet away with her tail wagging. He knew he had seen Rachel before at school, they had never actually talked before though. He was always up for meeting new people, it was one of his favourite things to do. "Im alright, id be better if someone would give me my hat back" he laughed. "And how are you?" he asked. He reached up and fixed his hair a bit, it was all standing on end from when the dog had pulled his hat off.

Rachel flipped her hair as a cold breeze came over, she started playing with her hair and curling a strand of hair around her index, this was a weird habit that Rachel seemed to always do whenever she was talking, she just couldn't keep her hands still she needed to do something so she starts curling a strand of hair. She looked over at Abby and let out a small giggle at Kian words, "I don't think she's gonna give it back any time soon."Rachel said as she took a deep breath. "Well I'm okay, living, so that's a good thing, I guess..." Rachel said nodding.
Rachel then whistled to the dog and tried to get her attention to get back, Rachel loved dogs, her dad once got her a dog and she named him Stinky, it was an Australian Shepherd, Rachel always used to go walk him and take care of him, but when she turned nine the dog got sick and the vet decided to put him down to sleep, Rachel was so sad that they had to do this, and ever since she didn't want another dog, she hated to get attached to things that in the end she was going to lose.
When Rachel failed to get the dog's attention Rachel looked back at Kian as a small sigh escaped her lips, "So you think we should walk over to her or let her come to us?" Rachel said smiling.

He smiled and shook his head "Nah, she loves this game. Its better if we just ignore her until she decides to give it back. Otherwise we'll end up chaseing her alover the park" he said with a laugh. Abby looked over at the two people for a second when she was called and then pranced away a few steps and shook the hat in her mouth. Kian sighed, he had liked that hat. He hoped it wouldn't be ruined. He smiled at Rachel "Im Kian by the way. Im pretty sure we go to the same school. I know iv seen you around before." he said with a nod of his head. He did his best not to look at Abby but he could see her getting closer from the corner of his eye.
He smiled to himself. He loved animals, dogs especially. Abby was a gift from his sister for his 16th birthday. Not long after his mother had died, he had been depressed for a while afterwards. The dog had helped cheer him up alot.

Rachel nodded at Kian's words and let out a small giggle picturing the two of them going after the little animal and chasing her all over the park, it would be fun actually, Rachel loved animals, well not all of them, but she liked most of them, dogs were fun animals, they always seemed to cheer up their owners...
Rachel flipped her hair once again and started curling another strand of her hair around her index, she smiled back at Kian. "Nice to meet you Kian, I'm Rachel... and yeah we go to the same school, I've seen you around school, am new here though, I just moved here like three months ago..." Rachel said, although she moved here three months ago to live with her grandparents and attend Matthew Hopkins high, she previously visited the town before since her grandparents lived here and it was her mother's home town, she moved here from Australia, she missed her father, she hated the fact that her parents were going through divorce and she's not gonna be able to be with the two of them again, as her father lives in Australia and her mother modeling agency in NYC, all of this was a little bit over whelming for Rachel...
She looked at Kian again, "So are you from around here or you just got here for the school?"

"Nice to meet you Rachel, Welcome to Salum" he said with his usual big, charming smile. He could see Abby standing just behind him, tail wagging. He would waita second before he made a grab for the hat, he had to do it when she wasn't expecting it. She was a typical border collie, lightning fast and an endless supply of energy.
Kian shrugged "I moved here from Ireland when I was eight. Iv been around for a long time" he explained."My house is actually just down the street from the school" he said. "So where did you move here from?" he asked with curiosity.

Rachel smiled as she saw Abby wagging her tail and standing behind Kian and looked back at him. "I'm actually from Australia, my mother is the American one only, She grew up in Salem before pursuing her dream of becoming a model so she travelled to Australia fell in love with my dad, got married, had me, and then Puff the love they had just died so here I am, I decided to live with my mother, but apparently she had other plans, she left to New York city three months ago and left me here with my grandparents, they're the Halliwell's, I think you might actually know them." Rachel said thinking about how everybody from around here knew her grandparents, apparantley The Halliwells family line were popular around Salem, it has something to do with witch craft and the witch hunt that happened in the 16th century here in Salem, Rachel liked the fact that the family name was popular around here and that it has something to do with witch craft it made living here more interesting.
"So Ireland, that's pretty cool, I guess, so you're parents are here as well?" Rachel said, It was cool getting to know people and making friends here, and from the looks of it maybe Kian and her will become friends, who knows. he seems like a good guy, Rachel thought...

Kian nodded at the name Haliwell, he had heard it alot when his mom was alive. She loved talking about the witch hunts not to mention she had known everyone in town. "Yeah, I know the name from my mom. I think she might have known your grandma. Plus she was kindof obsessed with all the witch hunt stuff. Thats partly why she decided to move here" he said, he neglected to mention the other reason why they left Ireland. His father was an abusive alchoholic and his mother wasn't one to take that kind of thing long. Once he started targeting the kids rather than herself she decided it was time to get the hell out of Ireland all togethar. "Well no actually they arn't here. My parents were both born in Ireland. My Dad's still in Ireland some place and mum passed away here a few years ago. So I live with my two brothers and my sister just moved out because she got married" he explained. It didn't bother him talking about his mom now, it had in the past but it was getting easyer.

Life was actually a little bit confusing, Rachel always wanted to have a strong relationship with her father but she was never able to communicate with him, open up and talk about her problems with him. However even though they didn't have the father/daughter relationship she wanted, she still kinda miss him...
"Yeah, my aunt is like so into witch hunts and stuff like that, she told me that her and my mum used to like investigate and see things, but I think she's only making fun of me to make me believe in these stuff, although I kinda do. do you believe in such things?" Rachel said as her smile widened. Rachel did believe in magic stuff, not that she totally believed in them but part of her did, it seemed kinda strange, she wasn't superstitious or anything like that, she believed in magic, but not totally believing in it yet...
Rachel shrugged when she heard about his mother passing away, "Ah am sorry, I didn't know that.." Rachel said, of course she didn't know it was so stupid of her to say this but she always get confused around such conversations around death or anything of that sort... "So how is the school going on with you?" Rachel said trying to divert the coversation to another subject...

Kian gave a small laugh “Yeah I believe in that stuff I guess. Its cool. Besides I wouldn’t be Irish if I wasn’t superstitious. I mean I don’t believe all of it but a lot of it is really neat” he said with a grin. It was hard not to believe in that stuff after listening to his mother talk about it so much. He loved anything spooky, being scared was like a natural high for him. He shrugged when he mentioned his mother “No worries. Talking about it doesn’t upset me” he said, he didn’t mind people bringing her up, he liked thinking about her. He smiled to show her he was fine with the hole situation, he was used to it by now. “Schools fine I guess, you’d think going to a haunted school would be more exciting though” he laughed.

Rachel was pleased that she didn't have to walk alone or be alone right now for that matter, she was glad that Kian could accompany her, she was glad that he was there so she could talk to someone and won't be thinking too much about the current events that were happening in her life.
Rachel shivered as a cold breeze came over and made her brunette hair fly behind her, it started snowing again slightly, Rachel didn't care actually much, she just loved winter, it was her favorite season, even though they say that winter brings sadness, but to Rachel this season was the best.
Rachel gave Kian a smile, "Yeah I believe in those things as well, but like I said not totally, I believe there's powers and things beyond our imagination in this world but I kinda wanna see it as well." Rachel said... Rachel nodded slightly when she heard him talking about his mother, she blushed a little, she doesn't even know why she blushed... She looked at Abby trying to figure out what her next step was, but she only stood there wagging her tail. she looked back at Kian when he talked about school, "Yeah, it's really fun to be at a hunted school, it would be more interesting if actually something real happened, like maybe you know seeing a ghost or a restless soul, man that would be so much fun." Rachel said letting out a small giggle, she was joking, she wasn't sure if actually seeing a ghost would be more fun or scary, she wasn't sure how will she react to it, at the moment maybe she thinks it's funny and interesting because she never saw a ghost before...

Kian was just about ready to pounce on Abby, he knew she was waiting for it. He decided to wait a moment longer so he could talk to Rachel. It was interesting to meet someone else who belived in ghosts and things. He found alot of people thought it was all a load of crap. He shivered aswell when the wind started and the snow started flying again. He liked winter for the most part but he hated the cold. He noticed her blushing when he talked about his mom, he reolised it sometimes made feel uncomfortable, he understood.
He laughed when she mentioned how fun it would be to see a ghost, he agreed "Yeah, it would be cool. Kinda creepy but cool, iv never actually seen anything like that. Id love to but, no luck yet" he said with a grin. He had always liked reading, watching, and talking about anything scary. It was hard not to when his mom was exactly like himself.
He looked at Abby through thr corner of his eye once more before spinning around and grabing the dog "Got ya!" he laughed and then pulled his hat out of her mouth.
